Director of Engagement
Alison Karlin is Director of Engagement at The Genesis Prize Foundation, with primary responsibility for public relations, digital marketing, Laureate initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activity in North America. Alison previously worked at Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus life, as Director of the Office of The President.
While at Hillel, Alison worked with the President to develop Hillel's 2012 strategic plan, conduct an organizational analysis, and enhance and elevate Hillel's communications function. She also worked closely with the Board of Directors to engage and involve them in critical decision making for the organization.
Prior to working at Hillel, Alison spent eight years at Booz Allen Hamilton, a management consulting firm based in McLean, Virginia. Alison's expertise is in change management and strategic communications, which she leveraged while supporting Federal clients who were implementing large-scale transformation initiatives that frequently affected multiple areas of their operation, to include business process, technology and policy, among others. Alison led multi-functional teams supporting the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Department of Defense.
Alison graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, with a major in U.S. History and minor in English. Alison currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
